Category Insights Manager

The company : SHS Sales & Marketing is the UKs market-leading, privately-owned, sales and marketing outsourcing company with over 300m turnover and continues to grow both organically and through the acquisition of new clients and brands. The companys extensive portfolio of well-known FMCG brands stretches across a wide range of categories including alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, confectionery, grocery, household and health & beauty.

This includes both company-owned brands eg WKD, Merrydown Cider, Bottlegreen drinks and Shloer, as well as the sales and marketing for partner brands including Mars Drinks, Jordans, Chewits, Reckitt Benckiser and Johnson & Johnson for example.

The Role : As a result of internal promotion we are now recruiting a Category Insights Manager. Working cross-functionally both within the business and with external brand partners your remit will be to develop powerful and meaningful consumer and category insights to support the sales and national account teams in making better business decisions and in "selling" fact-based category business solutions to the customer.

In addition you will report on sales performance, identify distribution opportunities, evaluate the impact of promotional activity and make recommendations to maximise sales opportunities across all of the different trade channels.

The position will be based at the Gloucester Head Office with regular meetings held off site with brand partners and major customers.

The Person : Of graduate calibre, you are ; naturally data literate, highly analytical, commercially aware and can demonstrate some relevant experience gained in an FMCG environment in a Category, Analyst, or Client management role. Your background is less important and your experience to date may have been gained within an FMCG supplier, retailer or marketing/market research agency.

You will have a clear understanding of how to interpret a variety of data sources eg. Nielsen, Kantar, IRI, Dunnhumby, SalesOut etc and how to add value and real insight that result in actionable recommendations. To be successful you will need to display a confident, articulate and persuasive personality, combined with passion and a drive for success.
