Hydraulic System Lead Systems Engineer- Filton, Bristol
The team in Filton (Bristol) UK is in charge of developing and manufacturing the Hydraulics, Fuel, and Pneumatics Systems for the A350 wing.
As the Hydraulics Systems Lead Stress Engineer you will be in charge of:
Analyzing Airbus Stress Requirements
Liaising with customer Stress lead and negotiate requirements and technical solutions
Supporting Design Team
Liaising with parties involved in the project e. g. manufacturing, procurement, quality
Creation and post processing of FEM's (Finite Element Model) using PATRAN
Interpreting NASTRAN results
Defining the most suitable Means of Compliance for stress
Supporting all stress V&V (Validation & Verification) activities
Writing Stress Reports
Signing off parts in PDMLink
The Lead Stress Engineering is a leadership position and a crucial element in the Airbus AP1020 Signature Delegation
The applicant will report in a matrix organization to Head of Stress in Munich, Germany and to the Work-package Lead Engineer on-site. He / she will have to lead a team of currently 2 stress engineers.
Engineering degree in mechanical engineering (Master or Bachelor)
Minimum of 10 years aircraft related stress analysis experience
Extensive PATRAN / NASTRAN experience
Working knowledge of Visual Basic
Good general knowledge of Aircraft system installations
Knowledge about Airbus processes and methods advantageous
Good knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
Pro-active and well motivated
Able to perform well under pressure
